Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Project Management
- Create templates for reporting and managing projects. Accountable for quarterly updates to internal and external collaborators
- Make sure activities are being done on time, in line with project objectives and budget, where necessary work with Country Lead to revise and reallocate budgets and timelines
- Create indicator protocols
- Main point of donor contact. Compile and submit quarterly narrative and financial reports to the donor.
- Create and manage partner MoUs; ToRs for external evaluators and work on the M&E plans and reporting /dissemination of results
- Donor maintenance – includes compliance, safeguarding, branding, impact management
Finance:
- Financial reporting and budgeting, to reconcile finances across Opportunity International network; code income and expenditure, monitoring spending per project.
- Track funding flows to partners in line with project deliverables
- Monitor expenditure and costs against milestones
Business Development
- Part of design team for new proposals and projects ensuring new projects are designed is in line with Opportunity International best practices, lessons learned and objectives.
- Work closely with international partners and team members to develop new, high quality, fundable programmes at a country, regional and sector level.
- Support the preparation and submission of funding applications including written applications, log frames, budgets, and monitoring and evaluation plans.
- Manage budgets in proposal design to ensure they are in line with the overall Programme
Budget and Opportunity International Impact measurement
- Programme Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning Agenda, Impact and Dissemination
- Develop and review documents or reports that capture learnings; integrate learnings into program activities. Document best practice: lessons learned and evidence base
- Present Quarterly impact /dashboards as part of the of SM calls
- Be part of the dissemination of the programme wide impact
- Field visits for partner review and feedback.
External Networking
- Represent Opportunity International to donors and participate in stakeholder and Working Group meetings
- Increase the profile of Opportunity International UK and lever the experience of our partners by attending fora and other development and industry seminars.
- Represent Opportunity International UK at local in-country donor offices, facilitating visits to local partners with the purpose of securing technical or financial support.
- Pro-actively share your learning and knowledge of local partners and their work with staff and Trustees in the UK, to increase their exposure and facilitate further funding from different audiences.
Team Collaboration
- The Programme manager will work closely with the M&E Associates and Refugee Country Lead
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Business Administration or a related field.
- Five (05) years plus experience in international project management and experience of coordinating large grants.
- Strong financial management skills and a proven track record in preparing and implementing pipeline analyses and quarterly spending targets (the post-holder will be expected to manage large budgets, ensuring invoices are submitted on time and monitoring the expenditures and costs against delivered and realized milestones).
- Successfully managing complex relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders, including providing management and advice from a distance.
Personal skills and abilities
- Excellent written communications, including report writing, in English.
- Superior interpersonal and team-building skills.
- Outstanding computer skills, including word processing, excel, mail, and internet.
- Commitment to and understanding of Opportunity International’s mission, vision, and values.
