Job Title:  Reinsurance Accountant (Fresher Jobs)

The Tanzania operations were established six years.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Process and reconcile reinsurance premiums, claims, and commissions.
• Accurately record reinsurance transactions, including proportional and non-proportional treaties.
• Prepare and submit journal entries for reinsurance-related activities.
• Reconcile accounts payable/receivable for reinsurance balances.
• Prepare reinsurance bordereaux for premiums, commissions, and claims.
• Perform reconciliations related to facultative and other programs.
• Prepare quarterly reinsurance statements for reinsurers.
• Reconcile reinsurers’ statements and ledger balances.
• Manage reinsurance balances with treaty and facultative participants.
• Calculate and record reinsurance-related adjustments like premium adjustments and profit commissions.
• Review and interpret reinsurance contracts for accurate financial treatment.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• Certifications: Professional accounting certification (CPA, ACA, CIMA, or equivalent).

Experience:

• 3–5 years of accounting experience.
• At least 1 year of experience in reinsurance or insurance accounting preferred.
• Knowledge: Reinsurance accounting principles and contract structures.

Required Skills:

• Proficiency in financial accounting systems.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and data analysis skills.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills to meet tight deadlines.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and keen attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
