Job Title:  Production and Marketing Officer

About the Company:

Teso cooperative Union came into being after the Government had responded to the demands of the Cooperative Associations to process their cotton and entrusted them with some cotton ginneries after the cotton ordinance act of 1952.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

• The ideal applicant must possess a degree or diploma in Agriculture, Agricultural economics, Agribusiness or Rural Innovations from a recognized university.
• Experience: At least two years of experience in Agricultural production and marketing sector. Experience in cooperative management is added advantage and important.

Essential Skills:

• Strong marketing skills with a track record of successfully promoting agricultural products.
• Knowledge in marketing cotton.
• A commitment to and understanding of market development solutions for rural poverty alleviation.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, analyze, and interpret data effectively.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare quality reports.
• Proactive mindset with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Excellent work planning and communication skills.
• Training, facilitation and presentation skills.
• Be passionate about improving the livelihoods of cotton farmers, and be extremely results-oriented towards that goal.
• Be committed to a high standard of professional performance and integrity.
• Be able to take initiative, and work independently, taking a high degree of personal responsibility for the team’s results.
• Have a private sector outlook on development, and be comfortable developing private sector partnerships which are useful to drive results.
• Be a strategic thinker with sound judgement and private and public sector experience.
• Excellent knowledge of English, Ateso or Kumam.
• Must have a valid riding permit.
