About US:
Uganda Wildlife Research & Training Institute (UWRTI) is a semi-autonomous body under the Ministry of Tourism, Wildlife and Antiquities, established by Uganda Wildlife Research & Training Institute Act, 2016. The Institute is mandated to: “Undertake research and training services for sustainable conservation and management of Uganda’s wildlife resources.’’
Job Summary: The Economist shall support on routine Planning for the Institute and performs such other duties as may be assigned by the Director in conformity with the laid down procedures of Uganda Wildlife Research and Training Institute.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- To assist in the preparation of annual work plans and budget estimates.
- To assist in the analysis of budget performance for the vote.
- To assist in preparation of the budget monitoring reports.
- To assist in the preparation of government performance reports.
- To assist in the preparation and implementation of departmental work plans.
- To assist in collection and sorting data in economic analysis.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant must hold an Honors Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Statistics, Commerce, Business Administration or any other related field from a recognized institution.
- Experience of not less than four (2 years) in a relevant field in reputable organization.
- Be a citizen of Uganda with a valid national identity card
- Age: not more than 45 years
