About Organisation:
Uganda Cancer Institute (UCI) is an autonomous body under the Ministry of Health, established by the Uganda Cancer Institute Act, 2016. The Act mandates the Institute to manage and coordinate cancer care and cancer-related conditions across the country. UCI’s core functions include cancer treatment, prevention, research, and training in fields such as Oncology, Pediatrics, Gynecology, Radiotherapy, Surgery, Imaging and Radiology, Nuclear Medicine, and other related specialties.
Job Summary: To participate in the planning process of the Institute in formulating and reviewing its development strategies.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: The incumbent will be responsible to Senior Economist for performing the following duties: –
- To assist in preparation of Vote Budget
- Framework Papers and the Annual Policy Statements.
- To assist in the preparation of annual work plans and budget estimates.
- To assist in the analysis of budget performance for the vote.
- To assist in preparation of the budget monitoring reports.
- To assist in the preparation of government performance reports.
- To assist in the preparation and implementation of departmental work plans.
- To assist in collection and sorting data in economic analysis.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- An Honors Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Statistics, Commerce, Business Administration or any other related field from a recognized institution.
- No experience required.
- Key competencies required for the post: The incumbent should have key competences in: Planning and Budgeting; Expenditure Management and Budget Control; Financial Reporting; Risk management and Assurance; Information Communication Technology; Decision Making and Problem Solving; Innovative and Proactive; Decision Making and Problem Solving; Inter-personal relations; Ethics and Integrity; Effective Communication and Intra-personal Management and Report writing Skills.
