Restless Development is a global non-profit agency. We support the collective power of young leaders to create a better world. We are independently registered and governed in nine countries (India, Nepal, Sierra Leone, Tanzania, Uganda, UK, USA, Zambia and Zimbabwe) bound together by our vision for youth power. We run youth-led programmes to tackle the issues that young people care about the most – We also run the Youth Collective – a growing network of over 4000 local youth civil society groups and organisations in 185 countries. Job Summary: The Communications Intern plays a vital role in supporting an organisation’s efforts to secure funding and effectively communicate its mission and impact. This position involves assisting with grant research and writing, as well as contributing to various communication strategies, helping to raise awareness and support for the organisation’s initiatives.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Digital and Social Media Expertise (50%)
- Social media handling and management.
- Conceptualising and executing media campaigns to celebrate/ commemorate key dates like the 16 days of activism, World AIDS Day, World Volunteer Day, World Human Rights day etc.
Content Creation (40%):
- Story gathering and story telling to highlight program impact and hub strategic visibility.
- Photography and video editing
Community Engagement and Mobilization (5%)
- Organise and coordinate National Youth working Group meetings.
- Assist in planning and execution of the hub’s strategy launch.
Other duties as required (5%)
- Other duties as required. Occasionally working on weekends, late night in case of volunteer incidents and holidays for which time off in lieu can be taken
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant should have good communication skills
- Interpersonal and relationship building skills.

- Photography and video editing skills
Preferred start date: 1st October 2023
Length of contract: 6 Months
Expected travel: Occasional domestic travels may be required
