UGAFODE Microfinance Limited (MDI) is a registered financial institution in Uganda and is adherent to the Central Bank’s regulations and guidelines and was founded in 1994 to provide quality microfinance services.
Job Summary: The Project Officer will be responsible for oversight including developing / reviewing the project management framework, coordinating the project cycle from inception to implementation, monitoring and evaluation stage, stake holder management over all ongoing institutional projects as per approved budget and strategic institutional objectives to ensure effective & timely execution of projects.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Monitoring project progress and creating project status reports for project managers and stakeholders: Participate in project design meetings and propose improvements if necessary. Coordination of all projects while maximizing value from partnerships to drive accountability that yield value proposition for UGAFODE (MDI) Ltd.
- Adhere to budget by monitoring expenses and implementing cost-saving measure; Assisting with resource scheduling so that team members have the resources they need to complete their tasks; identifying resources for each task, planning for the future of each project, collecting every task that leads to final deliverable, define how each project is facing constraints and the impact for resolutions; ascertaining value proposition as well as understudying initiatives aimed at pitching UGAFODE above competition.
- Supervise current projects and coordinate all teams to keep workflow on track; Managing stakeholders and facilitating communication between the project manager and stakeholders throughout the project life cycle: Communicate with clients to identify and define project requirements, scope and objectives, Providing timely and accurate feedback to the stakeholders.
- Managing project management strategies/ documents such as the project plan, budget, schedule or scope statement as directed by the project manager: Plan and manage team goals, projects and new information, manage project-related paperwork by ensuring all necessary materials are current, properly filed and stored for UGAFODE (MDI) in line with internal process.
- Enhance customer service standards: Evaluate potential problems, technical hitches and develop solutions. promote excellent customer service for the institution through service standards, feedback, monitoring and reporting in line with compliance, risk and best practice perspectives.
- Direct project correspondences by preparing and reviewing project proposals, memos, minutes and emails; Collection of all information about projects and coordination to avoid gaps that can affect relationships. Identification of business strengths, business intelligence and customer needs so as to analyze/profile service standards for maximum income generation for UGAFODE (MDI) Ltd in line with internal processes and best practices.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Minimum of Bachelor Degree in Project Management/Monitoring, Marketing, Economics or any other equivalent.
- Two to three years of relevant experience in Project Monitoring, Planning, Market Research, Project management and / or Communication.
- Team & time management with ability to meet deadlines in organized manner
- Excellent analytical skills and problem solving
- Documentation and ability to use project management tools
- Attention to details even under pressure
- Project management and networking skills
- Good computer literacy with excellent use of MS Office – Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and experience in use of management information systems.
