Consulting Ltd is an online recruitment services which now seeks to recruit on
behalf of its valued Client. The client is one of the leading multinationals
companies in the gas and electricity sector with a global presence, operating
in 30 countries and with nearly 18 million customers. The Company’s fully owned
subsidiary in Uganda is focused on the operation, maintenance and management of
hydro-power stations. The Company requires competent individuals for various
positions for a hydro power plant in Achwa, near Gulu in Northern Uganda.

Job Summary: The
HSEQ Engineer will assist the Technical Services Manager in all its duties, as
well as supervise on the field different works from a HSEQ perspective

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Support the preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance.
Promote and support the use of Condition monitoring tools, record
result, analyze and report them.
Prepare and/or lead the preparation of technical studies on
operation incidences.
Prepare, implement and monitor the Annual training plan including
specific quality trainings.
Coordinate/organize the technical competence assessments for all
staff.
Management of non‐conformities, corrective actions and
preventive actions.
Propose, control, analyze and record improvements and modifications
on the facilities.
Keenly analyze and propose actions to extend the useful life of
equipment and installations.
The HSEQ Engineer will also control and develop studies on energetic
performance in co‐ordination with other departments of the
plant.
Administer Computerized Maintenance Management System
Support other HSEQ activities that could be requested.
Carry out the Risk Assessment and promote the risk awareness amongst
employees.
Oversee and manage the activities to ensure compliance of all
applicable operational and safety procedures, laws, policies, regulations
and standards.
Promote good health, safety and environmental practices.
Prepare or participate in incident investigations.
Perform workplace safety audits and ensure that any remedial
recommendations are implemented.
Control the disposal of toxic and dangerous waste

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

The ideal candidate must hold a Bachelor Degree in Engineering or
equivalent.
Two years’ experience of SHSE support activities
Knowledge and experience in risk assessment, preparation HSE related
deliverables such as HSE Management Plan, HSE Management Procedure,
Environmental Management Procedure, Potential Risk Register, Potential
Risk Mitigation Plan
Knowledge of SHEQ documentation
