About Project:
The Transitional Justice Research Project investigates the experiences
of recurrent violence in northern Uganda, Kenya and Democratic Republic of
Congo and the barriers confronting women in accessing justice and realising
their human rights. By engaging survivors of gender-based violence in dialogue
with policy makers and key stakeholders, the project seeks to reduce violence
against women.

Job Summary: The AVID volunteer will assist with a range of
activities including: research including literature reviews, general
administrative support, organising and coordinating key informant interviews,
and assisting the Women’s Rights Coordinator for Uganda with violence against
women initiatives.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: The suitably qualified
volunteer should possess:

- Qualifications in social science and/or
law or other relevant discipline - Excellent research skills and an
understanding of qualitative research methodologies - Working knowledge of women’s rights issues
in the region and gender justice issues in conflict - Self awareness, cultural sensitivity,
flexibility and adaptability, resilience
