Youth Social Advocacy Team (YSAT) is a refugee-led non-profit, non-governmental Organization whose core mandate is supporting conflict affected youth by tackling barriers to accessing quality education, sustainable Livelihoods and addressing root causes of violent conflicts for refugees and vulnerable host communities in displaced settings.
Job Summary: YSAT is seeking a Project Coordinator to provide overall operational leadership, coordination, and technical supervision for its OCHA-funded Refugee Response Programme across Rhino Camp, Imvepi, and Bidibidi — overseeing cash assistance, WASH, community-based protection, and community engagement. Recruitment is contingent upon confirmation of funding by UNOCHA’s Uganda Humanitarian Fund.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Direct the operational rollout, monthly activity execution, and coordination across Rhino Camp, Imvepi, and Bidibidi settlements
- Coordinate participant targeting, profiling, verification, and mobilisation with OPM, UNHCR, district authorities, RWCs and other stakeholders
- Oversee cash-based interventions including CVA targeting, financial literacy training, and establishment of VSLA groups
- Coordinate quality implementation of WASH interventions: PSN latrines, tippy taps, hygiene supplies, and Community Hygiene Promoters
- Serve as YSAT’s focal person for the Refugee Response project in sector working groups and inter-agency coordination forums
- Prepare and submit high-quality consolidated reports in line with OCHA reporting guidelines and timelines
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Project Planning & Management, Development Studies, Social Work, International Relations, or related Social Sciences; Master’s or PGD highly desirable
- Minimum 5 years of progressive experience coordinating multi-sectoral emergency humanitarian programmes in refugee/displacement contexts in Uganda
- Proven track record in Cash Transfers Programming and CVA Multipurpose Cash Grants, including coordination with Financial Service Providers
- Minimum 3 years in a multi-site field coordination or supervisory position in a refugee setting
- Demonstrated expertise managing OCHA-funded projects; knowledge of OCHA OneGMS is an added advantage
