Job Title: Core Accountant
Reporting to: Finance & Administration Manager
Duty Station: Kampala.
WWF is one of the world’s largest independent and experienced conservation organizations operating in over 100 countries in the world. WWF UCO implements a number of national programmes promoting environment conservation in Uganda.
WWF UCO is seeking to recruit a competent person to fill the position of an Accountant.
Mission of the Department: To ensure a high performing Uganda Country Office with efficient operating systems, professional and skilled staff, and strong financial resources, delivering conservation impact on issues and in place.
I. Maintaining Financial Records and updating the Financial Management System (FMS).
II. Preparing Financial reports to multi- stakeholders
III. Preparing the core office budget and coordinating the Field office budget process
IV. Drafts correspondences and internal procedural directives relating to budgetary and financial matters.
V. Managing and liaising with WWF UCO Vendors
VI. Supervising and developing accounting staff;
VII. Managing the WWF UCO cash flow;
VIII. Managing the payroll;

Required Qualifications
· A degree in Accounting, and
· At least 3 years working experience preferably in an NGO setting ;
· Full accounting qualification i.e. CPA, ACCA , CIMA or equivalent;
· Advanced degree will be an added advantage;
· Demonstrated skills in developing, managing, and evaluating financial and administrative plans and policies;
· Experience working with government and donors;
· A thorough knowledge of, and dexterity with ERP software(ACCPACC) added advantage;
· Experience working with international organizations involved in environmental and/or community issues would be an advantage.

· Excellent inter-personal skills, including the ability to develop and maintain strong relationships at all levels, within Tanzania Country Office and, as required, with external stakeholders;
· Excellent oral and written communication skills in English; and

VI. Working Relationships
Internal: Interacts and works closely and on a regular basis with finance and administrative staff in all Uganda Country and Field offices, as well as senior managers and project staff. Coordinates and interacts as appropriate with members of the Finance Manager of WWF UCO.
External: Interacts as required with governmental institutions, donors, and other stakeholders, in collaboration with the Country Director as appropriate
