Water Compass works
with households, schools and health centers. This method of ‘triangulation’
targets locations where disease transmission is most likely occur in
communities. Working in one, but not the others, defeats the purpose.

Job Summary:  The Community Development Officer will
actively promote improved sanitation in Sembabule and Bukomansimbi districts

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Tasked with community mobilization
  • Promoting improved sanitation and hygiene practices
  • Facilitating Community-Led Total Sanitation (CLTS) triggerings
  • Carrying out WASH assessments and mobile data collection
  • Conducting household level follow-ups and health education
  • Coordinating with district, sub-county and village level partners

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 

  • The applicant must hold a Diploma or degree in public health, social
    work or community development
  • Prior experience with CLTS and community mobilization
  • Knowledge of mobile phone data collection platforms
  • Holds a valid motorcycle driving permit
  • Fluent in Luganda and English and
  • Sense of humor and willingness to get dirty
