The Uganda
Communications Commission (UCC) was established to implement the provisions of
The UCC Act 2013 Laws of Uganda with a principal goal of developing a modern
communications sub-sector and Infrastructure in Uganda, in conformity with the
operationalization of the Telecommunications Policy.

Job Summary:  The Officer Telecom Compliance will be in
charge of the full sales cycle from the opportunity qualification to the
negotiation, going through astonishing product demos.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • To carry out quality of service measurements leading to the
    assessment of compliance of telecom service providers in line with the
    Quality of Service framework as set by UCC.
  • To carry out activities for type approval or type acceptance of
    telecom equipment in line with the equipment conformity framework and the
    type approval regulations
  • To carry out maintenance and calibration of monitoring and test
    equipment to ensure its functionality in line with the relevant frameworks
    and to periodically report on the condition of the equipment in line with
    the unit policies.
  • Prepare and submit reports on the quality of service measurements in
    line with the unit policies
  • Prepare and submit reports on type approval assessments in line with
    the unit policies
  • To contribute to the UCC budgeting process by proposing any
    necessary additional equipment or upgrades of existent equipment for
    procurement by UCC. 
  • To maintain databases and filing systems on all activities of the
    unit in line with the unit policies.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The applicant for the Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) Officer
    Telecom Compliance job must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications
    Engineering or a related field;
  • Membership in a professional body is an added advantage
  • At least two years of relevant working experience in
    Telecommunications in a similar corporate setting 
  • Telecoms infrastructure
