Job Summary: The Driver will work to support the EFL Head office or Branches and ensure that offices operate smoothly and effectively.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Drive office vehicles for the transport of authorized personnel, delivery and collection of mails, documents, supplies and equipment.
- Ensure that all company vehicles and motorcycles are regularly serviced and in good working mechanical conditions. This involves checking water, oil and tyre air pressure periodically.
- Responsible for conducting physical repairs and maintenance of the entire fleet.
- Responsible for managing EFL vehicles and motorcycles by carrying out preventive maintenance.
- Responsible for the cleanliness and day to day maintenance of the vehicles.
- Maintains daily vehicle logs, including record of usage of vehicle, daily mileage, fuel consumption and records of various repairs.
- Performs messenger’s services including collection and delivery of mails, cheques and any other office documents and supplies.
- Take extremely good care and responsibility of cars, reporting defects, accidents and breakdown and ensures that the vehicle is up to date with insurance according to the requirements of the traffic act in Uganda.
- Ensure availability of all required documents/ items in the car at all times, including vehicle insurance, first aid kit, necessary spare parts etc.
- Keep safely all fuels and lubricate receipts and records for easy accountability and ensure that Eleglance vehicles are not used for personal business.
- Perform other miscellaneous office support functions as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
Education Certifications:
- A diploma in mechanical engineering or related field
- A valid driver’s license with a B code/class and more.
Essential Knowledge and Experience:
- Relevant experience in vehicle physical repairs and maintenance.
- At least 5 years of driving experience.
- Should be aged above 30 years.
- Excellent driving skills and knowledge of traffic laws.
- Should be fluent in the commonly used local languages

- Patience and understanding.
- To be persuasive, persistent and firm.
