Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- To provide professional support to the Country Director in handling
and coordinating AAIU public relations - Tasked with mainstreaming media and social media relations and
Corporate affairs Programmes and activities. - The position will be required to manage social media platforms and
AAIU websites in line with AA and AAIU communication policies and
protocols.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant for the ActionAid Communications Officer job must hold
a Bachelor’s Degree in either information Science, Journalism/Mass
Communications, Communications Science, Media Studies or Marketing from a
recognized institution. - Possession of a relevant Postgraduate qualification would be an
added advantage. - At least three years of similar work experience from a reputable
organization - Competencies in Media or public relations experience, Materials
development and Publishing skill - Excellent written and public speaking skills,
- Photography and photo editing skills,
- Graphic design and layout skills,
- Marketing and Communications skills
- Creative thinking and problem-solving skills,
- Demonstrated interest in the visual arts and community education,
- Familiarity with Adobe Photoshop, Experience in managing websites,
Solid problem-solving skills, - Ability to conduct power analysis,
- Transformative feminist leadership skills,
- Ability to establish critical working relationships,
- Ability and willingness to comply with AAU/AAI safeguarding
requirements.
