Job Summary: The Relationship Manager Corporate Banking is responsible of managing client relationships, sourcing credible business proposals, mobilise and grow deposits/liabilities as well as manage existing bank relationships and to maximize cross-selling revenues and client profitability while providing effective client support and relationship development to meet the set business targets and grow the business.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Developing new business opportunities by proactively marketing for corporate value chain lending/deposit opportunities from current & prospective clients.
- Act as the main Relationship Manager for all Corporate customers and to work closely with these customers to the mutual benefit of both the customer and the bank & Market for new business.
- Generate prospective pipeline by sourcing for new customers.
- Arrange customer visits to source for potential customers and grow the pipeline.
- Mine the existing portfolio for incremental lending opportunities.
- Carry out KYC, compliance follow up and checks on existing customers.
- Provide advice to customers regarding their balances, statements, account status.
- Review daily arrears and excess report and following up with clients to make good of their accounts.
- Follow up on files at approval and disbursement stage, at KYC/compliance stage.
- Analyse and monitor market trends, interpret customer requests and provide integrated products & solutions to customer needs in line with the bank’s policies and procedures and make appropriate recommendations for banks product development and improvement.
- Review and maintain a comprehensive database of existing relationships and establish mechanism to maintain existing customers.
- Carry out research on industry trends, regulations and latest products with the view of improving the credit appraisal process.
- Offer advisory services to clients under your portfolio to cover areas such as new industry information, new products and services from the bank, etc
- Initiate customer site visits to cover review and general inspection and assessment of business operations, property, premises, plant, equipment or any other collateral on an ongoing basis and subsequently followed up by a call report for management’s consumption.
- Manage assigned credit portfolio and monitor the quality of existing credit relationships on a continuous basis.
- Monitor, follow up and track agreed / approved covenants and conditions for credit facilities availed.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- A university degree in a business-related field such as bachelor’s degree in finance, Business, Accounting or Commerce or its equivalent
- Any professional course in banking/credit will be an added advantage
- Five years of experience in banking, of which 3 years must have been in relationship management and lending related role.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, and financial management skills.

- Well-informed of the market competitive structure, industry practices and regulations for Consumer banking with at least 2 years’ experience in local environment.
