Medical Access Uganda Limited (MAUL) is a not-for-profit organization based in Kampala, Uganda specialized in the provision of supply chain management and technical assistance services for management of health commodities in Africa for the last 26 years.
Job Summary: The Senior Administration and Human Resource Officer will oversee the company’s overall administration functions, which includes working with senior management to make operational improvements and human resource functions with focus on onboarding and staff welfare using existing HR systems.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide support to departments in developing and delivering strategic HR plans that fit with the overall business direction.
- Plan, monitor, and appraise HR activities by scheduling management conferences, resolving employee grievances, training managers in how to coach and discipline, and counseling employees and supervisors.
- Champion the onboarding process by ensuring that it’s high-quality and up to date and provide clarity and connection for employees so their roles serve the overall business vision.
- Maintain management guidelines by preparing, updating, and recommending human-resources policies and procedures.
- Establish and maintain relationships with clients, vendors, and other partners.
- Ensuring that company brand guidelines are followed for all forms of communication.
- Manage company’s Corporate Social Responsibility.
- Provide support in hiring decisions, including scheduling job interviews, contact candidates as needed and conduct background checks on potential employees.
- Ensure the safety of personnel and property of Medical Access.
- Create and maintain a diverse network of contacts on behalf of the Executive Office.
- Maintain an efficient central filling system and manage filing of office documents for both hard and electronic copies.
- Make travel logistics arrangements including processing of visas, flights reservations, hotel booking, airport transfers for staff and per-diem requisitions.
- Any other duties and responsibilities that may be allocated from time to time.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree in human resource management, Business Administration, Social Sciences or any other related field
- A Post Graduate Diploma in Public Administration and Management
- A master’s degree in business administration, Industrial Psychology, Public Administration and Management or any related field is an added advantage.
- 8 to 10 years relevant work experience in HR and administration or related field.
- Knowledge of Human Resource Management and the Ugandan Labor Law.
- Knowledge of Administration and best practices in corporate affairs.
- Proficiency of Microsoft Office and Outlook.
