Job Summary: The Senior Manager, Global Market Sales will lead the Sales team towards attainment of the Financial target set for Global Market Sales as per budgets. Efficient and effective service to a portfolio of treasury clients with the aim of maximizing the foreign exchange turnover, profitability of the bank as well as promotion of other treasury products. This incorporates putting in place a strategy for increasing the Bank’s share of existing clients’ business and for enlarging the current portfolio of clients. To professionally provide the Bank’s Treasury products and services to existing clients and to grow the bank’s share of Forex business through marketing and client acquisitions. This role will be responsible for revenue generation, client retention and portfolio expansion through new clients and new products.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Financial (55%)
- Implementation and execution of the laid down sales strategy that is coherent with coherent with the overall bank strategy.
- Grow the bank’s treasury FX portfolio by ensuring client retention and acquisition of new clientele.
- Optimization of income through profitable sales of Foreign Exchange and other Treasury products.
- Monitor business performance of existing relationships to reduce instances of business/revenue leakages.
- To provide portfolio monthly performance report to stakeholders.
- Management, development and growth of IB client base and implementation of sales strategies to assist in achieving the IB targets for the year.
- Ensure revenue growth for the bank through cross selling of other bank products to existing and new Treasury clients
- Monitor and track business performance of existing relationships and to reduce instances of leakages of business
Customer (25%)
- Drive account planning and active management of key clients in assigned portfolio to enhance wallet share.
- Develop and sustain relationships with portfolio clients to ensure that the Bank is viewed as a thought leader and active market player.
- Manage quality of the bank’s product offerings by improving current products and developing new ones to ensure the Bank’s dynamic responsiveness to the needs of targeted market segments.
- Develop a thorough appreciation for each allocated customers’ business under the assigned portfolios, and understanding of their potential needs for Treasury products, through regular liaison with the principal RM for each customer as well as through direct contact with the customer.
- To prepare the client meeting plans in coordination with the relationship managers to submit call reports in CRM
- Work closely with stakeholders in respective portfolios to drive strategic client agenda.
- Manage the banks treasury portfolio and ensure maximum returns from these relationships.
- Organise networking events to foster close knit relationships with both potential and existing clients.
- Follow-up, advise and quote clients who are in receipt of inflows so as to generate increased revenue.
- Prepare and deliver informative and objective market intelligence to customers via research, bulletins and face to face interface.
- Update clients on market trends and receipt of flows.
- Ensure utilization of the E-channels.
Internal business processes (10%)
- Comply with requirements of all relevant risk management policies; the Bank’s ALM and Credit Policy, Bank of Uganda’s prudential guidelines and appropriate provisions of the Financial Institution Act in respect of Treasury operations.
- Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate and resolve risk and compliance matters.
- Engage with all audit report findings, relevant to the GM Sales business and ensure feedback is acted upon.
Learning and growth (10%)
- Take up development programs to ensure continuous enhancement of competences of the members of the team, including self.
- Attend all scheduled trainings and complete all e-learning modules.
- Champion and act as a role model of the bank’s values and culture for Global Markets.
- Ensure that recommended hours of learning/training are achieved for both self and direct report through E-learning, Internal & External training activities.
- Ensure that there is proper succession plans for key roles and career development for direct reports.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant must hold a University degree or equivalent
- MBA will be an added advantage
- Professional: ACI Certification
- Seven years of experience of Global Markets Operations and exposure to sophisticated Global Markets products.
- A sound background and knowledge of banking with particular emphasis on Foreign exchange products and money market products.
