About US:
Rural
Electrification Agency (REA) is the secretariat of the Rural Electrification
Board (REB) established by statutory instrument 2001 No. 75. REA is mandated to
implement Government’s rural electrification programs. The Government of Uganda
through REA is implementing a number of electricity connection projects with
financial support from development partners to meet national electricity access
targets.
Job Summary: The Assistant
Human Resource Officer will provide technical support in human resource
management function in line with the Agency’s Human Resource policies,
procedures and best practices.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
·
Support
the rigorous recruitment process to ensure the Agency acquires competent
employees to implement its projects.
·
Plan and
implement effective employee onboarding programs in consultation with line
managers.
·
Support
the probationary and performance evaluation processes by providing adequate information
and actions in line with the relevant policies.
·
Maintain
and update the Human Resource (HR) records and provide accurate HR information
to stakeholders when required.
·
Update
and track staff performance agreements and assessments as per the HR policies
and procedures.
·
Review
and track staff training schedules and events including submission of reports
in line with the training policy.
·
Provide
advice and counsel to staff on policies and procedures of the Agency.
·
Support
the disciplinary and grievance issues in line with policy and legal
requirements.
·
Implement
staff welfare and benefits in line with applicable standards.
·
Perform
any other relevant duties assigned by the supervisor
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
·
The
applicant for the Rural Electrification Agency (REA) Assistant Human Resource
Officer job must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or
Commerce (HR option), Human Resource, Psychology or an equivalent with a Human
Resource Management Module from a recognized University.
·
Membership
to the Human Resource Management Association of Uganda (HRMAU) or any other
Human Resource professional body is an added advantage.
·
A Post
Graduate Diploma in Human Resources Management is an added advantage.
·
At least
four years of experience in Human Resource and Administration in a recognized
and busy organization.
·
Very
knowledgeable on Ugandan Labour Laws. Excellent management and administrative
skills.
·
Very
good organizational planning skills and a proven ability to work with a large
degree of independence, managing own workload and priorities.
·
Excellent
oral and written communication skills and ability to work in a cross-cultural
sensitive environment.
·
Proven
High Level of Ethics and Integrity.
·
Computer
literacy with excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office, PowerPoint
presentations, database management systems.
·
Age: Below 40 years
