Job Title:  Girls Programme Officer (Fresher Jobs)

About US:

Founded in 2009, Watoto Wasoka is a youth-led football for development organisation in Uganda. We use football as a vehicle for social change in the lives of slum children in Uganda. We seek to change lives, through structured football programmes, one game at a time. We do this by creating purposeful opportunities for play and learning, in a safe environment, for slum children in Uganda. We also organise some of the biggest football events for youth in Uganda, East Africa (if not Africa), with our last Slums Derby attracting more than 1,500 kids, while the last Christmas Camp was attended by more than 2,700 boys and girls from all over Uganda.

 

Job Summary:   The incumbent will support the goal.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Gender mainstreaming: Lead and coordinate the integration of female participants into the programmes of Watoto Wasoka, through, but not limited to, girls’ football.
  • Girls Team: Assume and uphold the role of Team Manager for the K.S. Sparta 09 Girls’ team, including but not limited to management and coordination of our girls’ teams.
  • Capacity building: Coordinate capacity building opportunities for female coaches and young girls in our programming, such as trainings, coaching courses, and volunteering opportunities.




Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The ideal candidate must hold a diploma or bachelor’s degree in social work, business administration, or a related field.
  • Candidates of lower qualifications are also encouraged to apply if they have the relevant experience.
  • One year of experience in a similar position at a reputable Organisation.
  • You don’t need to be a football expert, but you should love play/sport!
  • Basic knowledge in MS Office packages (word, excel, outlook and PowerPoint)
  • Outgoing personality with passion for working with community stakeholders and young girls.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills. Team player, reliable and dedicated.
