About US:
Uganda Electricity Distribution Company Limited (UEDCL) is a limited liability company incorporated in Uganda under the Companies Act. UEDCL owns the 33KV and below voltage electricity distribution networks and all the operational assets associated with the business currently leased to Umeme Ltd. The company monitors Umeme Ltd and other Concessionaires in Uganda, directly distributes of power in Ten (10) territories covering over 86 rural and border districts, operates a modern pole plant at Lugogo, and executes key rural electrification schemes on behalf of Government of Uganda.
Job Summary: The Transition Coordinator will ensure all aspects of the transition run smoothly; efficiently using project management standards. This position is responsible for the coordination of status reporting, deliverables, dependencies, risks and support management for the re-transfer (of Umeme) process.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- To manage the secretariat of the steering committee.
- To develop and keep track of the Gant chart activities, on the whole re-transfer Road map.
- To ensure the sub-committees are in adherence to the takeover roadmap.
- To participate in all sub-committee meetings.
- To prepare and present regular reports to the steering committee on the activities of the sub-committees.
- To facilitate the monthly meetings between the steering committee and the sub-committees.
- To facilitate all communications and correspondences relating to the takeover process.
- To conduct quality assurance on all activities and functions related to the takeover process.
- To support the steering committee to periodically report on the status of the takeover process.
- To support the steering committee to generate the final takeover report at the end of the takeover process.
- Identify any transition related issues and creating effective solutions to resolve them swiftly.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree in in business related studies.
- A Masters in Business Administration (MBA) or Post Graduate diploma in project management is an added advantage.
- Experience of not less than 7 years in a recognized organization (Especially in Energy Sector).
- A professional Certification in CCNA, MCSE, ACCA, CPA and will be an added advantage
- Experience in project management will be an added advantage.
- Excellent analytical and monitoring skills.
- Ability to Drive long distances in the country side.
