Job Title:   Internal Auditor (HR & Administration and Operations)

Organisation: Uganda Electricity Transmission Company Limited (UETCL)

Duty Station:  Kampala, Uganda

Reports to: Senior Internal Auditor

Uganda Electricity Transmission Company limited (UETCL) is responsible for bulk purchase of electricity from the generating companies and selling it in bulk to the distribution companies throughout Uganda. UETCL is also responsible for exports and imports of electricity to Uganda. Job Summary:   The Internal Auditor (HR & Administration and Operations) will carry out planned audit activities in conformity with the internal audit manual, guidelines

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Carry out day to day audit activities in areas of Human Resource & Administration, Projects implementation and corporate services in conformity with the internal audit manual, guidelines.
  • Evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of controls in operations by Identifying and documenting control weaknesses and Propose practical recommendations to address control weaknesses and/or process inefficiencies.
  • Perform audit tests and prepare working papers in such a manner that is required by the Internal Audit Manual and in accordance with professional IIA standards.
  • Conduct adhoc assignments including investigations as may be assigned from time to time.
  • Reporting all audit findings and appropriate audit recommendation in line with the given audit assignments objectives.
  • Provide support to the Senior Internal Auditor on day to day activities and plans of the Internal Audit Department.

 




Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Commence, BBA, Finance and Accounting or any other relevant qualification from a reputable University.
  • Must have at least Level ii certificate of an Accounting/Auditing professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA, (U), CPA (K), CIA.
  • Member to the institute of Internal Auditors of Uganda
  • At least three years of Auditing/ Accounting Experience in a reputable organization
  • Must possess good oral and writing skills
  • Must have good Interpersonal skills and be a committed team player
  • Must be a person of high Integrity, exhibit trust, independence and objectivity.
  • Knowledge and experience of use of Computer Audit Packages such as Teammate will be an added advantage.
