Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- To assess, price and determine terms for risks presented within set standards of service to ensure quality selection of risks and timely service.
- Co-ordinate at least one training for the underwriters and agents per quarter
- Conduct at least one risk survey inspection per week.
- Maintain Engineering and fire gross loss ratio as per company standards
- Visiting sites alone or with underwriters or intermediaries
- Assessing and evaluating risk to buildings, employees, or customers by undertaking appropriate research
- Carrying out detailed site surveys
- Writing and explaining reports to underwriters and intermediaries
- Providing advice to clients and making recommendations about required risk improvements.
- Assigning quality grades after improvements have been made.
- Liaising with health and safety inspectors, clients, insurance brokers and underwriters
- Collecting photographs as evidence
- Maintaining awareness of changes in legislation and trading processes
- Providing the underwriting team with loss estimates (probable maximum loss / estimated maximum loss)
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant must hold an Honours Degree (Hons): Civil Engineering (Required), Honours Degree (Hons): Engineering Electrical Engineering (Required), Honours Degree (Hons): Mechanical Engineering (Required)
- Skills: Insurance, Photography, Price Management, Probable Maximum Loss (PML), Researching, Risk Assessments, Risk Surveys, Site Surveying, Teamwork, Underwriting, Writing
