Job Summary: The Personal Banker – General will be responsible for driving business growth by assessing credit applications, evaluating creditworthiness, while guiding customers on solutions based on their needs and providing excellent customer experience.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Drive Business Growth for business loans and Agricultural non production loans for Ugx 30 million and below
- Assess credit requests on credit proposals or renewals, focusing on risk profile, repayment capability, security adequacy etc. in line with the bank’s credit standards, policies and practices and make recommendations to the credit committee.
- Ensure compliance to all standards and policies and ensure secure transaction for customers.
- To ensure proper and secure record keeping of documents pertaining to loans granted as per policy guidelines.
- Monitor and follow up loan portfolio quality performance, ensuring recovery of all loans in arrears according the credit policy.
- Drive the use/sale of alternative self-service banking channels and educate customers of using alternate channels and grow revenue and profitability of assigned portfolios.
- Analyse existing customer data to identify expansion and/or additional business opportunities, utilising the MIS and participate in sales campaigns in a planned manner to achieve sales targets
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant for the Personal Banker job must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration /management, Commerce, Economics, Statistics, Microfinance or other related business course, Microfinance related course is an added advantage
- Relevant training in basic banking and credit risk management
- One year of experience in banking operations/Sales.
- Proven successful sales track record in a financial services industry is an added advantage
- Advanced product knowledge in credit and other specialised products.
- Experience in business development, product development, relationship management, technical business analysis, sales process, people skills and understanding the market.
