About US:
In 1979, our first product was baked giving birth to Ntake bakery. Since then we have grown into a multi sector business comprising of a bakery, wheat mill and paper recycling plant. With household names like Kaswa baking flour, AAA tissue and our bread which has come to be simply known as Ntake, we have endeared ourselves to the hearts of many Ugandans.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the review, development and implementation of appropriate Human Resource Management policies and procedures for the Group
- Lead in workforce planning and conduct the Recruitment and Selection processes including on-boarding and new employee orientation
- Identifies, articulates and translates the HR needs of the Group and deploys appropriate processes and programs offered in ways that bring business value
- Determine and recommend employee relations practices necessary to establish a positive employer-employee relationship and promote a high level of employee morale and motivation
- Provide HR advice to the Group Leadership Team and employees within their defined scope
- Partner with Line Managers to deliver against business goals and site specific initiatives/projects
- Ensure the effective administration of various HR programs: performance management, succession planning, labour and employee relations, and compensation programs
- Coordinate and/or deliver training programs to employees depending on the business and individual needs
- Responsible for the health and safety of employees at the workplace and ensure compliance with safety standards and government regulations
- Responsible for handling employee misconduct and complaints from employees about the workplace in a fair and transparent manner
- Conduct periodic surveys to measure employee satisfaction and employee engagement
- Establish and review the company wage and salary structure, pay policies and oversees the variable pay systems within the company including bonuses and pay-raises
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- An Honors Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management, Organizational Psychology, Industrial Relations or a related field from a recognized University.
- A post graduate qualification in HR is an added advantage
- A member of a professional organization
- Eight years of experience in a manufacturing environment with 3 years at Management level
- Experience in industrial labor and employee relations
Competencies
- Good knowledge of the labour laws of Uganda
- Strong understanding of manufacturing and plant-level HR experience
- Demonstrated knowledge in recruiting, compensation, employee and labour relations
- Proven organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work in a culturally diverse and fast paced environment
- Excellent customer focus and ability to deal at all levels of the organization
- Demonstrated results orientation and high level of energy / passion
- Demonstrates strong teamwork and collaboration with peers and subordinates
