Job Summary: The Investment Associate will be responsible for facilitating efficient investment administration, communication and document management. As an Investment Associate you’ll play a crucial role in supporting investment activities within Britam Asset Managers Uganda including but not limited to analyzing investment opportunities, conducting due diligence, managing portfolios, and assisting with investment decisions.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support in conducting market research to identify potential investment opportunities.
- Support in conducting due diligence on potential investments, including evaluating risks and potential returns.
- Ensure accurate filing of the investment documentation and dispatch of documents to clients.
- Compilation of weekly/ monthly/annual information internally or externally.
- Manage the updating of client reports.
- Coordinate with other departments on investment activities and events.
- Organize and manage Investments Events
- Work closely with Investment Manager and Investment Analysts, and other team members to contribute to the investment process.
- Collaborate with various departments such as legal, compliance, and operations to ensure smooth execution of investment transactions.
- Stay informed about macroeconomic trends, industry developments, and market dynamics that could impact investment decisions.
- Support the provision of insights on competitive landscape and emerging opportunities.
- Assess and quantify investment risks and develop strategies to mitigate potential downsides.
- Assist in preparing investment memos, documentation, and legal agreements related to investment transactions.
- Support actively in the sourcing and identification of potential investment opportunities through various channels, such as networking, industry events, and databases.
- Manage and maintain databases and records related to investment activities.
- Delegated Authority: As per the approved Delegated Authority Matrix
- Performs any other duties as required
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant must hold a bachelor’s degree in commerce, Economics, Statistics, or related field.
- Intention to pursue CFA qualification or already enrolled.
- Basic Knowledge of investments and financial markets.
- Excellent organisational, critical thinking and analytical skills.
- MS Office skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong work ethic and ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and senior professionals.
- Proactive and self-motivated, capable of taking ownership of tasks and projects.
- Ability to handle pressure and meet tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy and quality.
