About US:

Urban Refugees (UR) is an international NGO aiming to improve the lives
of urban refugees in the Global South. To do so, we:

• Supports refugee-led organisations to develop their capacity to organise,
  plan and advocate for themselves through our incubation programme. This
  includes: technical assistance and training, support in governance, fundraising
  and communication mapping.
• Create and coordinate a network of NGOs, academics, refugee-led organisations
  and practitioners to help them share best practices and work together towards
  shared goals and
•  Advocate changing policies
  affecting urban refugees

Job Summary:  The Programme
Officer  to collaborate in the design of
training methodologies and deliver training sessions on various subjects
including project management, leadership, communication, financial management,
partnership creation and management and fundraising to 2 Refugee-Led
Organizations (RLOs).

The overall objective of this programme is to strengthen the capacities
of refugee community leaders and volunteers thanks to the delivery of workshops
and training sessions. It is estimated that each training will be provided to
up to 20 persons from different backgrounds and with diverse level of understanding.

Key Duties and
Responsibilities: 

·        
Collaborate
to the design of training methodologies on issues such as Leadership, Community
mobilization, Finance and accounting, Fundraising, External communications or
Project management

·        
Deliver
trainings and workshops to beneficiaries (refugee leaders of communities) on
those topics

·        
Conduct
short evaluations of each training session and document best practices in the
toolkit

·        
 Ensure that the overall Programme Plan is
followed

·        
 Focal point for the refugee leaders on matters
related to training logistics, agenda, materials…

·        
 Monitor progress of each RLOs and update
monitoring and evaluation plan accordingly

·        
 Participate in stakeholder meetings when
necessary

·        
 Other tasks may be asked

Qualifications,
Skills and Experience:

·        
Previous
experience as a Programme Officer appreciated

·        
Previous
experience in facilitating workshops and/or delivering trainings an asset

·        
 Bachelor degree or higher in a relevant field

·        
 Excellent organizational skills, attention to
detail, and follow-through

·        
 Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal
communication skills

·        
Excellent
computer-based skills

·        
Cultural
sensitivity and ability to work with a multicultural team

·        
 Reliable, flexible, and able to work both
autonomously and as a member of a team, proactively and with limited
supervision

·        
Fluency
in English required, French desirable

·        
Understanding
of refugees’ humanitarian context an asset

Conditions:

Uganda
national or person eligible to work in Uganda

Remuneration
based on experience
