Authority is a semi-Autonomous Agency under Ministry of Agriculture, Animal
industry and Fisheries (MAAIE). Dairy Development Authority was established
under the Dairy Industry Act of 1998. Dairy Development Authority’s Mission is
“To provide dairy development and regulatory services that will ensure
increased production and consumption of milk, sustainable and profitable dairy
industry sector that contribute to economic development and improved
nutritional standards in Uganda.”
Job Summary: The driver is responsible for operating the
DDA’s Motor vehicles.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Keep assigned vehicle free from damage and in acceptable condition.
- Maintain assigned vehicle clean inside and outside.
- Fuel the assigned vehicle.
- Ensure that the vehicle is in proper and safe condition prior to
use, and accept responsibility to report any damage or mechanical
malfunctions that exist. - Perform simple vehicle maintenance (taking vehicle for inspections,
filling tyres with air etc.) - Responsible for proper use and maintenance of keys.
- Keep driving records (i.e. Mileage, fuel receipts).
- Work extra/overtime hours as needed according to the workload.
- Maintain an excellent driving record
- Operate vehicles and equipment safely and responsibly, as assigned.
- Complete all other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant must hold a Uganda Advanced certificate of education.
- A valid Driving permit.
- A Defensive Driving certificate is a must.
- A Certificate in basic Motor Vehicle Mechanics is an Added
advantage. - Experience of not less than five (5) years.
