Job Summary:  The purpose of the officer position is day to day implementation of the Livelihoods and Food Security projects in the Yumbe District.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure project compliance to NRC program policy guidelines (SOPs) and M+E Framework, country, Regional, and Global strategies, etc.
  • Liaise with community leaders, and government structures during registration and verification of beneficiaries.
  • Participate in capacity-building training and workshops organized by NRC, government, and other partners at the district and grass root levels.
  • Monitor Cash transfer and agricultural food production activities.
  • Participate in the distribution of project inputs e.g., Cash Transfer, Agro/Small Business materials to the target groups.
  • Gather impact stories for program documentation/Reporting.
  • Prepare and file relevant documents as required by the line manager e.g., Purchase requests, Project Reports, Goods Received notes, Distribution reports, etc.
  • Carry out data collection as required for M+E Reporting.

Specific responsibilities

  • Mobilize and sensitize communities on Agricultural food production, cash transfer programming, Micro small-scale business Establishment, Protection and Nutrition, etc.
  • Participate in the selection, and Recruitment of beneficiaries targeted to benefit from the program with guidance on the beneficiary selection criteria and ensuring proper profiling of the beneficiary database.
  • Organize and train beneficiaries ‘on agricultural production, Selection, Planning, and management of micro small scale businesses enterprises, cash transfer, etc.
  • Develop work plans, and distribution plans for all project inputs meant for Distribution to target beneficiary groups.
  • Regularly collect accurate project-related information/Data for submission to the M+E for reporting.
  • Ensure Weekly, monthly, quarterly, and Annual documentation of project Reports for submission to the supervisor.
  • Represent NRC in coordination meetings organized both at the district and settlement levels with other Key stakeholders including OPM, UNHCR, and the District Production Department.
  • Carry out additional tasks assigned by the line supervisor.





Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The ideal candidate must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Agribusiness/Social Sciences/Adult and Community Based Education/Cash Programming, Community Rehabilitation, and Development Studies.
  • At least four years of experience working on Cash and Livelihoods/Food security project implementation position in a humanitarian/recovery context.
  • Experience working in a project implementation position in a humanitarian/recovery context.
  • Previous experience working with Cash & Voucher Assistance systems and tools (market assessment, cash monitoring)
  • Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities.
  • Skills and knowledge of market analysis and cash-based interventions, Livelihoods, and Food Security.
  • Fluency in English, both written and verbal
  • Experience with community-based projects/activities
  • Experience with multi-sectoral and integrated Cash and Livelihoods programming
  • Professional knowledge of cash transfer modalities/systems.
  • Experience with early recovery /reconstruction projects is an asset.
  • Experience working with vulnerable groups, particularly IDPs; Persons of concern, able to demonstrate conflict-sensitivity, compassion, discretion, and protection aspects.
  • Skills in monitoring and evaluation would be beneficial.
