About US:
Cairo Bank Uganda Limited was incorporated on 11th July, 1994. The Bank was formerly known as Cairo International Bank owned by the three leading Egyptian Banks namely; Banque Du Caire, Bank Misr and National Bank of Egypt. In 2019, it became a fully owned subsidiary of Banque Du Caire (BDC). The shareholder consolidation in 2019 was on the back of expanding its presence across Africa whilst providing an entry point into the COMESA market.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Payments management: Manages payments in all aspects of business and is accountable for timely and accurate processing of all outward, incoming domestic & international payments instructions and other internal account payables instructions.
- Treasury Operations: Ensuring that all treasury activities are carried out in accordance with approved policies and guidelines.
- Trade Finance Operations Management: Manage daily transactional requirements for trade finance applications and review trade settlement processes to ensure all accounts are updated and the transfer of money is arranged.
- Ensure any outstanding reconciliation items are investigated and cleared in a timely manner.
- Identify exceptions to processes, such as failure to perform payment instructions and breaches.
- Actively seek ways of improving process efficiency, implementing industry best practices, and identifying cost saving initiatives
- Keep up to date with new developments in banking and ensure adequate training for the team.
- Ensure a sound complaint-handling process within responsibilities.
- Review and enhance existing processes and procedures to meet changes in legislation and regulations, complimentary and continuous improvement in efficiency.
- Monitor that the payments team implements service standards as per approved customer promise.
- Manage and motivate the team as well as ensure staff are trained to a level required for their roles
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree from a reputable University
- At least five years of experience in Bank operations and at least 2 years in a supervisory role
- Basic Banking knowledge
- Leadership and Team Building
- Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills.
- Good mathematical skills, Analytical mind, good attention to detail, problem solving, good time management skills and the ability to multi-task work under pressure
- Proficiency in computer applications
- Accuracy / Attention to detail
