About US:
The Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation is a global
leader in the fight against pediatric HIV and AIDS. We’re working in 17
countries around the world to provide HIV prevention, care, and treatment
services for women, children, and families—with a mission to eliminate
pediatric AIDS. The Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation has received
funding from USAID/Uganda for a five-year cooperative agreement in 13 districts
in the South-western region of Uganda with the goal of increasing access to,
coverage of, and utilization of quality comprehensive tuberculosis (TB) and
HIV/AIDS prevention, care, and treatment services.
Job Summary: The Knowledge Management Officer will identify
and document best practices from Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation
(EGPAF)’s programs. Working closely with the District Based Teams (DBTs) and
the Communication and Advocacy Advisor, the Officer will identify and document
obstacles and successes from the field, ensuring that the best of EGPAF’s
collective knowledge, best practices, lessons learned, and results achieved are
captured and made available whenever and wherever needed. Examples of focus
areas may include documenting sustainable practices for adoption in
strengthening public health laboratories, or building awareness of the
importance and availability of services to increase community-wide utilization
of these services.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Support the evaluation and documentation of
projects, and the preparation and writing of key management reports and other
documents.
·
Identify and document best practices
·
Disseminate these learnings in ways that are
accessible to the Foundation staff and the public at large, e.g. blogs and
newsletters
·
Leverage and enhance the Foundation’s existing
internal knowledge management systems and platforms, like the EGPAF intranet,
to upload and share information
·
Recommend program issues to be addressed and
documented from the field
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
·
The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree*
·
At least one year of professional experience*
·
Strong writing skills, evidenced by experience
drafting documents (e.g. case studies or reports) for a wide range of audiences
(technical, programmatic, policy makers, etc)*
·
Demonstrated project management skills with the
ability to ensure internal and external collaborators achieve a time-bound goal
or project*
·
Past experience in knowledge management, health
education, or public health programs, especially in HIV/AIDS
·
Experience managing Web 2.0 tools like
professional social media accounts, blogs, or wikis, or Enterprise 2.0
integrations of these technologies like RSS or social bookmarking
·
Experience partnering with or working in an
international non-governmental organization (iNGO)
·
Public speaking experience, e.g. presentations,
trainings, or workshops
·
Ability to travel to the supported regions and
districts
·
Ability to manage multiple priorities while
working as part of team
·
Knowledge of existing key players in
HIV/AIDS-related networks in Uganda, or the willingness to acquire this
knowledge quickly
·
Ability to exercise diplomacy and build
partnerships within teams, across governmental agencies, and with other stakeholders

In addition to the intensive leadership development and
professional growth that the fellowship offers, the Global Health Corps
