About US:
Since 2018, Makasi Rescue Foundation (MRF) has been implementing Refugee skills training program in Kampala to empower the refugee/host community with skills for self-reliance. MRF is registered locally here in Uganda with the National Board of Non-Governmental 0rganisations and in USA with the main purpose of rescuing vulnerable people and building peace bridges for harmony and Co-existence (Refugees/Host community).
Job Summary: Makasi Rescue Foundation is an NGO seeking a Project Assistant will be responsible for the overall leadership, management oversight and strategic direction of the Makasi Rescue Foundation. The Project Assistant will also be responsible for supervision of all field staff in the program, reporting and managing relationships with donors, and partner agencies at field level.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the implementation of our projects at MRF, including project design and planning, implementation, coordination of activities, budget management, evaluation and reporting to ensure that the project is effectively and efficiently managed
- Ensuring high quality, integrity, transparency and accountability of key processes in the project, including: project design, development, and budgeting; project approval process; financial management; and reporting;
- Supervise the review of Monthly, quarterly and narrative reports, of work plans and budgets submitted by project partners, and liaise with Accountant assistant to process timely disbursements.
- Ensures that projects partners and MRF implementation teams are engaged in decision-making and receive the organizational and technical capacity needed to successfully complete their activities and reporting requirements.
- Ensure swift communication and collaboration with the MRF project partners for the effective implementation of the project
- Establish or reinforce partnerships with other organizations in the field, to create synergies for raising awareness on human rights compliance and protection.
- Contribute to fundraising efforts through contributions to concept note and full proposal.
- Represent MRF at project meetings and external events.
- Any other duty as assigned by the Supervisor
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The ideal applicant must hold a bachelor’s degree in relevant areas – Bachelor of project planning, Bachelor of M&E, Bachelor of Public Health.
- At least three years of experience in writing project proposal
