Job Summary: The U-RIL MEAL Coordinator is responsible for providing oversight for the programme MEAL function for the Uganda U-RIL portfolio, including the LH. The MEAL coordinator will work with the U-RIL programme team, LH project team and partners to adequately plan and lead a strong MEAL system that ensures harmonised and aligned data collection and monitoring to inform decision-making, accountability, reporting and learning in a timely and strategic manner. This work includes the maintenance and updating of the RIL’s database (Systems for Lab Information Management and Evidence), and data collection for the LH. In collaboration with the U-RIL Manager and LH Manager, the job holder will undertake routine monitoring and assessments ensuring the programme has information briefs, shares regular updates with stakeholders, and utilises the existing accountability mechanism for collecting, tracking and responding to feedback from the programme stakeholders.
In addition, the Job holder ensures that quality benchmarks are used during implementation of activities by U-RIL and its partners especially the innovators and puts in place a tailor-made documentation strategy for impact stories, reports, and best practices and makes sure that lessons learnt feed into the programmes planning processes. The staff is responsible for ensuring that the activities and projects data on outputs and outcome progress is collected, analysed and synthesised accurately and in a timely manner for U-RIL and its partners. He/She will ensure MEAL insights in activities are captured and support regular use of the insights into ongoing work of U-RIL & the documentation and dissemination of lessons learnt.
The job holder will be leading MEAL training and follow ups for the partners of U-RIL to develop their capacity and support their implementation of innovation pilots and scaling. The job holder may be asked to perform other tasks in case of a humanitarian emergency

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant for the Save the Children job must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in either Statistics, Economics, Monitoring and Evaluation, Business Administration, Management, Engineering Design or Applied Sciences.
- At least three years of working experience in monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning with an International NGO;
- Knowledge and practical experience developing an M&E System to generate data, dashboards;
- Computer proficiency, especially related to professional office software packages (Microsoft Office), particularly MS Excel
- Experience managing, and preferably designing or enhancing relational database systems (SQL, MS ACCESS, et al.)
- Proficiency using analytical software packages (SPSS, STATA, PowerBI), including maintenance and customization
- Knowledge and use of various survey methods for monitoring of different programs;
- Experience with qualitative feedback (design of tools, collection, and analysis)
- Practical experience building capacity of staff and partners in MEAL tools and systems;
- Creative thinking and interest in innovation and partnership work;
- Detail oriented with capacity to generate analytical content from MEAL data
- Additional training and experience in statistics or monitoring and evaluation and MIS is an added advantage;
- Experience of working with local partners
- Prior experience in the humanitarian and/or innovation ecosystem;
- Strong analytical skills and strategic planning abilities;
- Sound written and oral presentation skills
