Job Summary:  Watoto is seeking to recruit a Community Worker to work with Neighbourhood mothers to restore them to dignity.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To participate in discipleship class facilitation for the Neighbourhood mothers.
  • To organise all discipleship related logistics and classes e.g., scholastic materials, books, meeting space, refreshments, full attendance for timely coordination.
  • To coordinate and participate in counselling sessions for the mothers.
  • To support in the preparations for Trauma counselling of Trainers of trainees.
  • To liaise with different enterprises to offer trainings on business to the mothers.
  • To follow up on the business and record the success stories of the mothers.
  • Support in the Identification and enrolment of mothers and children into the program.
  • To oversee community home visits for the mothers and document all the essential information in the initiation phase.
  • To conduct hospital visits for follow up and provide moral support to the mothers.
  • To monitor progress on the relationship growth between the mothers and children by fostering healthy relationship and document accordingly.
  • To manage the mothers document collection, information upload into WISE, creation of individual files, and timely update of the Neighbourhood mother’s database.
  • To oversee the mothers’ cells, ensure full attendance of the mothers, monitor progress and active participation of the mothers.
  • To participate in the cell leaders’ meetings and annual meetings to observe, address, any cell growth challenges as need arises.
  • To monitor cell attendance to ensure that the mothers’ compliance to full attendance and participation and troubleshoot accordingly.
  • To liaise with relevant stakeholders to prepare for the mothers’ functions and mobilise the mothers to attend functions.
  • To conduct monthly WISE Audit reports and timely preparation of monthly reports on the Neighbourhood mothers.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The applicant for the role should hold at least a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Community Psychology, Social work or any relevant field.
  • Certificate in HIV Counselling will be an added advantage.
  • At least a minimum of two years of working experience
  • High degree of personal integrity
  • Result-oriented
  • Must have computer skills.
  • Outstanding Communication and Interpersonal skills
  • High level of team work
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision
  • Possess good organizational and leadership skills
