The
Electricity Regulatory Authority (ERA) is a Statutory Body established in
accordance with the Electricity Act, 1999, Chapter 145 of the Laws of Uganda.
The Act empowers ERA to regulate the Generation, Transmission, Sale, Export,
Import and Distribution of Electrical Energy in Uganda.

Job Summary:  The Senior Stakeholder Engagement Officer will
build and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with the Authority’s
Stakeholders.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

·       Develop and maintain
valuable stakeholder relationships.

·       Formulate and implement
ERA’s stakeholder engagement strategies.

·       Support Departments to
effectively consult and engage stakeholders on relevant projects.

·       Ensure the Authority’s
Stakeholder Engagement Guidelines are embedded in every consultative process.

·       Manage stakeholder
satisfaction research projects, including developing and implementing
strategies for continually improving stakeholders’ satisfaction.

·       Manage stakeholder fora,
meetings, and special events.

·       Coordinate stakeholder
contact through the implementation of the Stakeholder Contact Management
System.

·       Provide content and
updates for management reporting and environmental scanning processes.

·       Develop and implement
programs that will enhance/raise public awareness and understanding of the
Authority’s mandate.

·       Monitor and be
up-to-date with public policy changes relevant to the work of ERA and their
implications for stakeholder engagement.

·       Develop stakeholder
communications materials, including presentations, documents, profiles,
documentaries.etc.

·       Periodically launch
online discussion fora with intent to solicit stakeholder feedback.

·       Perform any other duties
as may be reasonably assigned by your Supervisor or Management.  

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

·       The applicant for the
Electricity Regulatory Authority (ERA) Senior Stakeholder Engagement Officer
job must hold an Honors Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work and Social
Administration, Social Sciences (with bias in Sociology), Development Studies,
Community Psychology or Marketing.

·       A minimum of five (5)
years of related working experience in a credible organization.

·       Should have a broad
understanding of the consultation principles and tools.

·       Should be proficient in
the use of relevant computer packages. Proficiency in online fora and
networking will be a great advantage.

·       Should be a person of
high integrity and be able to work as a part of a team, a high level of ability
to take initiative, and flexibility in adjusting to changing work program
requirements.

·       Excellent oral and
written communication skills.

·       Should have at least 5
years of experience in stakeholder relations management in Uganda’s Electricity
Supply Industry.          

·       Age: Below 45 years
