Job Title:   EVD Program Officer (5 Fresher Jobs)

Job Summary:  The EVD response locum will provide ongoing support to division teams to effectively continue supporting implementation of KCCA’s post EVD recovery plan at division and facility levels with emphasis on private health facilities/ drug shops. He/ She will support KCCA efforts to expand components of EVD Infection Prevention & Control (IPC) at facility and community level.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • In collaboration with KCCA, assist in coordinating and working with KCCA and other partners supporting the post recovery plan in Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) sub-pillar.
  • Support KCCA in maintenance of private sector EVD post recovery coordination structures within each division and cluster.
  • In collaboration with KCCA, assist in coordination of targeted follow-on IPC assessment for private health facilities and drug shops within each division.
  • In collaboration with KCCA, assist in coordination of targeted mentorships for private health facilities and drug shops within each division.
  • Create linkages with other partners supporting KCCA in the EVD post recovery period.
  • Support KCCA in coordination of advocacy meetings and harvest meetings in each division and cluster.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The applicant must hold a basic diploma or bachelor’s degree in medicine, nursing/midwifery, social sciences, or public health/related disciplines. Experience in emergency public health interventions will be an added advantage.
  • A master’s degree in public health with specialization in Epidemiology, Health promotion & prevention, health management will be an added advantage.
  • At least two years of work experience in public health program implementation.
  • Experience in Uganda’s response to EVD will be an added advantage.
  • Experience in response to epidemics working with multiple partners will be of added advantage.
  • Ability to work with and understand health data and health management information systems, including presentation of data in creative ways.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and must be able to communicate and coordinate effectively with health facility and division teams.
