About US:
The Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOS) is a semi-autonomous
body established by the Uganda Bureau of Statistics Act, 1998, to promote the
production of reliable official statistics and ensure the development and
maintenance of the National Statistical System (NSS). The mandate of the Bureau
is the production, coordination and dissemination of official statistics. The
Bureau intends to conduct The Baseline Education Census (BEC) 2020.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
·
Run tables and check for inconsistencies in the
data
·
Edit and code questionnaires.
·
Validate the data, sort and batch
questionnaires.
·
Write field reports and check errors in the
collected data.
·
Monitoring coverage and providing online support
to the field staff.
·
Ensure consistency of data collected.
·
Test the Tabulation Plan for the EBC Analytical
Report.
·
Closely work with the field supervisors to
ensure high quality of the data collected.
·
Carry out office editing, review and edit the
data sets to identify and rectify any field related errors.
·
Submit duly completed questionnaires to the
statistician in charge of the
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
·
The applicants for the Uganda Bureau of
Statistics (UBOS) Office Editor jobs should at least hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics,
Mathematics, Economics or related field, with Credit in Mathematics and English
at ‘O’ level.
·
At least three to four years’ experience in data management
·
Prior use of computers or other digital devices
for data collection is an added advantage.
·
Computer literacy
·
Strong numerical and analytical skills
·
Good inter-personal skills.
·
Strong communication skills.
·
Leadership and team dynamics skills; and
·
Presentation skills
·
Should be physically fit and able to walk long
distances
·
Knowledge of data management programmes like
STATA or CsPRO is a MUST
