Job Summary: As a key member of the Executive Management team, The Manager Finance will direct and oversee the financial activities of the organization, direct the preparation of current financial reports and summaries, and create forecasts predicting future growth. The primary day-to-day responsibility for planning, implementing, managing and controlling all financial-related activities of the company and includes direct responsibility for accounting, finance, forecasting, strategic planning, job costing, legal, property management, deal analysis and negotiations, investor relationships and partnership compliance and private and institutional financing.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Works with the Board Chairman and other executives to coordinate planning and establish priorities for the planning process.
- Provides leadership in the development for the continuous evaluation of short and long-term strategic financial objectives.
- Reviews planning process and suggests improvements to current methods.
- Direct and oversee all aspects of the Finance & Accounting functions of the organization.
- Manage processes for financial forecasting, budgets and consolidation and reporting to the Company.
Directs the preparation of all financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, shareholder reports, tax returns, and governmental agency reports.
- Take hands-on lead position of developing, implementing, and maintaining a comprehensive job cost system.
- Analyzes operations to identify areas in need of reorganization, downsizing, or elimination.
- Compares sales and profit projections to actual figures and budgeted expenses to actual expenses; makes or oversees any necessary adjustments to future projections and budgets.
- Ensure that effective internal controls are in place and ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable federal, state and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting.
- Provide recommendations to strategically enhance financial performance and business opportunities.
Studies long-range economic trends and projects their impact on future growth in sales and market share.
- Oversees investment of funds and works with investment bankers to raise additional capital required for expansion.
- Identifies opportunities for expansion into new product areas.
- Ensure credibility of Finance group by providing timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial trends and forecasts.
- Evaluates and advises on the impact of long-range planning, introduction of new programs/ strategies and regulatory action.
Works with other department heads to monitor each department and make recommendations.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with senior executives so as to identify their needs and seek full range of business solutions.
- Provide executive management with advice on the financial implications of business activities.
- Oversees Accounting department, budget preparation, and audit functions.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant must hold a Master’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance required.
- Certified Public Accountant designation preferred.
- At least eight to ten years of experience in financial management required.
- URA SACCO Accounting Manual and International Public Sector Accounting Standards.
