About US:
The Infectious Diseases Research Collaboration (IDRC) is a non-profit research organization. IDRC conducts research in infectious diseases including Malaria, HIV and Tuberculosis. Our studies have led to over 300 publications and have impacted on the management of infectious diseases in Uganda. IDRC currently manages over 41 Grants with an annual budget of $11 million. IDRC was established in May 2008 by Ugandan health scientists from Makerere University College of Health Sciences, University of California, San Francisco and the Uganda Ministry of Health.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for collecting and creating content for the IDRC social media platforms and website.
- Coordinate and collaborate with project & department heads to get correct, accurate and timely information.
- Evaluate information received as well as stakeholder opinions while creating content.
- Participate in creation and production of organization newsletters, brochures and other materials as required.
- Support with requests for facilitation of airtime, data, perdiems, fuel, etc.
- Update and manage social media platforms ensuring relevant content at all times.
- Minute taking, sharing minutes, calling for meetings and sharing meeting reminders.
- Maintain digital media archives like photos & videos
- Support events with branding requirements, media engagements and publicity i.e., photography and branding material set up.
- Any other duties assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant must hold a bachelor’s degree in communication or journalism (Second-class upper or First Class degree).
- Practical experience using desktop publishing tools (InDesign/Photoshop or Canva).
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Microsoft Office and social media platforms expertise.
