Job Title:         Poultry Farm Assistant   

Organisation:  Grun Farm International SMC Co. Ltd

Duty Station:   Uganda

Reports to:  General Farm Manager

About US:

Grun
Farm International SMC Co. Ltd deals mainly in Poultry, goat rearing and crop
husbandry. The Company is looking for a highly motivated candidate, result oriented
and qualified professional with integrity to fill the position of poultry farm
assistant on a one-year renewable contract depending on satisfactory performance.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

·       Ensure birds have access
to food and water

·       Walk through the house
to identify sick or injured birds

·       Utilize proper
biosecurity standards when entering and exiting houses

·       Assist with egg
collection, washing and sorting (on a layer farm)

·       Assist with putting eggs
in cartons (on a layer farm)

·       Control temperature of houses
for ultimate bird comfort

·       Conduct maintenance on
the house and watering/heating system as needed

·       Control house lighting
to meet bird needs

·       Maintain high standards
of animal welfare

·       And any other assigned
activities from time to time.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

·       The ideal candidate must
hold a diploma or certificate in Animal science or animal husbandry and any
other relevant course

·       Minimum of 8 months
experience

·       Must be computer
literate
