Job Title:   Senior Officer, IT Networks

The bank is also an affiliate of the Aga Khan Fund for Economic Development (AKFED) which is the economic development arm of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN).

 

Job Summary:  The Senior Officer, IT Networks will be responsible for the assurance of proper functioning of the bank’s IT network and communication systems, support, and maintenance of all local and wide area network connections, fixed-line voice networks, associated hardware, software and communication infrastructure ensuring all are in compliance with regulatory requirements and applicable ICT standards.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide a customer-focused approach to delivering IT services which provides value to the business units and bank’s customers.
  • Manage the Bank’s IT resources (people and systems) to obtain optimal return on investments.
  • Deliver IT services in line with the bank’s strategic direction and business requirements.
  • Ensure availability of reliable and useful information for decision making
  • Ensure optimization of IT related risk
  • Ensures that appropriate network managers are monitoring, analyzing and evaluating performance and working on resolution of identified degradation trends and problem areas (Performance Management).
  • Ensures that support for around-the-clock information transfer, storage, and processing is timely, efficient and meets the service levels required.
  • Assist with IT staffing and budgeting projections on a company-wide basis.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The applicant must hold a Degree in Computer Science or an IT related course
  • CCNA/CCNP
  • Three years of working experience in Networks in a busy environment most preferably a financial institution.
  • Familiarity with service delivery culture and support function.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Active directory.
  • Up to date with cyber security trends.
  • Personal competencies
  • A structured approach to dealing with complex and variable work environments in an independent manner.
  • Ability to balance opposing business requirements
  • Ability to balance long term and short-term requirements independently.
  • Strong evaluation, communication, and reporting skills.
  • Able to provide advice and cause/effect evaluation to support business decision making.
  • Independent and logical thinker, yet an achiever and implementer.
  • Leads by example.
  • Good at managing large volumes of information and can add value through management reporting.
  • Builds relationships and networks easily.
  • Has a strong service ethic.
