Job Summary: Working with the Head of Leadership, Learning and Talent establish a framework and execute the Talent Acquisition agenda for Absa Bank Uganda in line with Absa Bank Talent Acquisition strategy and in collaboration with the Country People Function Team.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Talent Acquisition 40%
Outputs:
- Manage Absa Uganda’s hiring needs in line with Absa Africa Talent Acquisition policy and ensure process is robust and offers are appropriate
- Receive, sort and vet job applications
- Establishing and utilizing an internal referral scheme and current database to fill vacancies
- Facilitate internal or external advertisement of vacancies within business unit
- Ensuring all recruitment falls within Group standards wherever possible and seeking dispensations where necessary (Compliance in all areas of governance).
- In collaboration with HRBPs, forecast Talent Acquisition needs for the various functions and design a Talent Acquisition pipeline program to effectively manage the TAT.
- Explain/answer questions to potential recruits relating to benefits, Bank policies and general conditions of employment
Information Management 30%
Out puts:
- Provide value-added Talent Acquisition reports on to Absa Uganda through the People Director to senior stakeholders on a regular basis providing them with the information required to enable strategic business decisions to be made.
- Accountable for submitting regular high-level executive reports as may be required from Absa Africa.
Administration, Governance and Controls 30%
Out puts:
- Management of Workday to ensure accurate entries
- Provision of MI to Business
- Adhere to all People Governance and controls relating to the recruitment process
- Adhere to all Local statutory/regulatory requirements surrounding recruitment of staff both temporary and permanent staff
Competencies:
- Stakeholder management – strong builder of critical and value add relationships
- Database management and design
- Understanding of legal frameworks and employment law across Absa Africa and Absa Uganda
- Strong personal integrity and regard for confidentiality of information

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The ideal applicant must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in human resources or a related field
- Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management is added advantage
- Higher Diplomas: Human and Social Studies (Required)
- Experience of HR with a proven track record of delivery through partnership with business, HR colleagues and suppliers
- Experience in the delivery, measurement and evaluation of HR activities and being able to move at pace in a constantly changing environment
- Experience of working in a multi-segment, environment with matrix reporting
- Awareness of cultural differences and varying legal/regulatory environments
