Job Title:   Receptionist (Fresher Hotel Jobs)   

Organisation: Lake Victoria Serena Golf Resort & Spa

Duty Station:  Kampala, Uganda

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide excellent customer service
  • Welcoming guests and checking their details against their bookings
  • Allocating guests their rooms and providing keys
  • Answering phones from prospective customers and guests, taking messages and delivering them
  • Completing administrative tasks such as filing and photocopying
  • Responding to requests for help and information
  • Providing concierge services, such as booking theatre tickets. arranging travel and providing information about local amenities and attractions
  • Preparing room bills and ensuring prompt payments
  • Checking guests out, taking payments and returning deposits
  • Listen to any complaints that Guests have and address them appropriately.
  • Make suggestions based on their preferences i.e., Up-sell when appropriate
  • Cooperate and communicate with other departments like housekeeping
  • Adhere to all relevant health department rules/regulations and all customer service guidelines

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The applicant must hold a Diploma in catering and hotel management or its equivalent
  • Two years of experience working in a hotel receptionist or guest services role.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other Hotel programs like Opera
  • Previous experience in the hospitality industry
  • Good command of the English language, both written and spoken
  • Customer-oriented
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
