Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a Maintenance schedule for machines and mechanical systems in the Group.
  • Develop routine maintenance checklist for all machines and mechanical systems.
  • Develop and enforce standard operating procedures for use and maintenance of machinery and mechanical systems.
  • Liaise with workshops and consultants for corrective maintenance of specialized mechanical equipment and facilities including boilers, compressors, chillers and generators among others
  • Prepare daily technical progress reports for submission to the Engineering Services Manager.
  • Prepare weekly operational status reports for submission and discussion with each Plant Business Unit Manager.
  • Appraise performance of Plant Maintenance Mechanics.
  • Oversee corrective maintenance of all mechanical equipment and mechanical systems.
  • Timely preparation of requisitions for procurement of spare parts for maintenance of machinery.
  • Approve requisitions for spare parts by Plant Maintenance Mechanics.
  • Liaise with and assist Mechanical Officer on Installations and process project.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the Head – Engineering Services.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The applicant must hold a Bachelor of Engineering Degree (Mechanical), or any other related discipline.
  • Postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline is an added advantage.
  • At least four years of significant working experience which should be at a senior level in engineering environment.
  • Strong general management and demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Must be good at application of creativity and innovative skills in managing projects.
  • Should have good analyzing skills as well.
  • Should be a problem – solver and be able to grasp the problem at hand and take quick steps to resolve it.
  • Ability to develop, formulate strategy and exercise good judgment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
