Makerere University Joint AIDS Program (MJAP) is a private-not-for profit Company under Makerere University. MJAP works to build partnerships and strengthen health systems to optimally respond to HIV/AIDS, TB, Non-communicable diseases (NCDs) and other diseases of public health importance in Africa.
Job Summary: The M&E Officer will participate in the developing, reviewing and implementing of M&E strategies and activities; in line with the National HIV Plan and Ministry of Health guidelines and procedures. He/She will support data analysis and provide technical support in strengthening the capacity of data officers and partners of the supported sites in the use of HMIS tools, data analysis and program management
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The ideal applicant must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics, Quantitative/Development Economics, Computer Science
- Post- graduate training in Program Monitoring and Evaluation is an added advantage
- 4 years’ working experience in program monitoring and evaluation programs that support strengthening health systems and HIV service delivery programs
- Knowledgeable on MoH and National frameworks; experience with UGEMR, DHIS2, HIBRID, DATIM and GIS tools for Health service mapping
- Knowledge of MER PEPFAR indicators will be an additional advantage;
- Knowledge of common Statistical analysis and database management packages Ms Access, Ms Excel, STATA, SPSS, EPiDATA; ODK
- Comprehensive knowledge of error resolution in data entry
- Demonstrated expertise in both quantitative and qualitative research methods (including visual analysis using maps)
- Ability to monitor data collection and data entry into management systems; including conducting Lot Quality Assurance Sampling (LQAS); data collection and write good project reports and plans.
- Strong IT skills (generic applications, internal communications systems, and software packages
- Good management and coordination skills, excellent interpersonal, communication, analytical and organizational skills.
