Job Title:   Assistant Election Officer/ Guillotine Operator

About US:

The Electoral Commission of Uganda, also Uganda Electoral Commission, is a constitutionally established organ of the Government of Uganda, whose mandate is to “organise and conduct regular, free and fair elections” in the country, in an efficient, professional and impartial manner. It was established under Article 60 of the Constitution of the Republic of Uganda.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operating the Polar Guillotine to cut papers to required sizes before and after printing
  • Replacing blunt blades and ensuring they are taken for sharpening;
  • Cleaning and maintaining the guillotine machine;
  • Operating the Stitching Machine;
  • Operating Wire-o-Binding equipment (Punch & Closing):
  • Managing Perforating and Serializing equipment
  • Any other official duties as may be assigned from time to time,




Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The ideal applicant must hold a Diploma in Printing Technologies from a recognized Institution.
  • At least three of experience in operating Guillotine, Perforating & Serialising Machine, Stitching Machine and Wire-o-Binding Machine in Government or equivalent level of experience from a reputable organization
  • Hands on experience in the Graphic Design technologies using Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Able-bodied with physical stamina and strength to handle heavy equipment
  • Hands on experience in printing technologies,
  • Ability to conduct risk assessment, diagnostics, safety precautions
  • High level of personal initiative, integrity and responsibility
  • Knowledge of printery production procedures.
  • Age: Between twenty-one (21) years and fifty (50) years.
