Job Title: Procurement Assistant

Organisation: Hariss International Limited (Riham Group)

Duty Station:  Kampala, Uganda

Hariss International Limited is one of Uganda’s leading manufacturers of food and beverages. Since its inception in 2005 the production of both food and beverages have been operating under the brand name RIHAM.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain general purchase orders and ensuring delivery dates are being met
  • Follow up with suppliers on backorders and confirm estimated time of arrival
  • Purchase office supplies and other consumables for various departments
  • Follow up supplier payments to ensure timely delivery
  • Maintaining purchase records
  • Maintaining cordial working relationships with vendors.
  • Following and enforcing the company’s procurement policies and procedures.
  • Reviewing, comparing, analysing, and approving products and services to be purchased.
  • Managing inventories and maintaining accurate purchase and pricing records.
  • Maintaining and updating supplier information such as qualifications, delivery times, product ranges, etc.
  • Performs any other task as per management request





Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The ideal applicant must hold a Bachelors in Procurement, Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or a relevant discipline
  • At least two years of experience in a similar role in a busy environment.
  • Working experience with SAP
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Organizational and time management skills
  • Effective problem-solving ability
  • Customer Service skills.
  • Reasoning and calculating
  • Adapt quickly to unfamiliar situations
  • Embrace continuous learning mentality
  • Work independently or in a team environment
