Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage the design, deployment, roll-out and maintenance of applications used by Business and Support entities.
- Liaise with Group representatives as needed regarding technical configurations, installations, deployment and troubleshooting, for applications and middleware in order to make sure services are properly delivered.
- Build and manage business, analyze and carry out process mapping of global application architecture including workflows.
- Ensure the affiliate CMDB (Configuration Management Data Base) is up to date.
- Ensure availability of applications, system performance and continued optimization in collaboration with the TGITS team.
- Provide proactive advice to Business units so as to ensure close collaboration, analysis and anticipation of end-user requests to make sure that application resources are easily deployed.
- Analyze and define business functional requirements related to applications as recommended by the Group.
- Act as the single point of contact for business applications ensuring system roadmap, necessary support and maintenance contracts are in place.
- Review change requests to ensure business justification in terms of cost, technology and provide technical input to business cases as required.
- Actively manage the affiliate application portfolio; and follow up with Group regarding license renewals, audits so as to ensure an updated IS repositories.
- Ensure creation and update of IS methodologies, best practices and installation guides pertaining to core business and support applications.
- Responsible for planning, organizing, controlling and integrating application projects as per business and affiliate scope.
- Assess coherence and optimize the portfolio of applications projects in relation to the Applications Cartography System.
- Consolidate business case input for new projects in collaboration with local teams, EP and TGITS.
- Ensure that all projects are delivered on time, budget; and highlight any project issues and risks.
- Contribute to improvement and structuring the IS domain through optimization of business, applications and data processes.
- To develop and promote mapping of information systems as tools for decision-making and performance management.
- Anticipate business changes and their impact on the IS domain then seek validation of mitigation measures.
- Regularly check the evolution of EP software portfolio; and proposes ideas relevant to the IS domain.
- Study and propose software solutions to install as part of the TEP-UG catalogue.
- Manage the IS team in charge of Applications activities, in compliance with IS and management practices.
- Participate in the buildup of the department and affiliate budget through information sharing related to applications and software.
- Organize IS user trainings.
- Assist in coordination of end user application interruptions and participate in the change management process.
- Organize and conduct business reviews and carry out complete follow-up of requests impacting affiliate businesses.
- Implement indicators to monitor and keep track of invoices for software and applications projects.
- Support information management actors for managing data in Business software.
- Provides assistance to Information Systems & Telecoms Manager during the processes of budget preparation and 5 year management plan.
- Be part of the IST Information Management and Business Application team networks HSE
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant must hold an Engineering Degree in Computer Science.
- Five years of experience in the IS domain with previous experience in Business Applications support
- Expert technical knowledge of applications support using ITIL processes and tools;
- Knowledge of database systems (Windows, Linux, Unix, Oracle, SQL);
- Expert knowledge in Microsoft Office packages, Mail Systems, Internet and Intranet Technology
