Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Management of the commercial organization and administration of the construction project
  • Professional (and in part disciplinary) management of the commercial teams
  • Central contact for employees and being the communication point between the STRABAG group and the construction site
  • Responsibility for commercial reporting and controlling of the construction site, self-driven detection of optimization potentials, drafting and execution of measures
  • Cooperation with and support of technical controlling / work estimate
  • Support or be responsible for annual financial statements and tax returns in cooperation with the central commercial departments, tax advisors and auditors
  • Responsibility for non-standard commercial tasks, including tax issues, coordination with central departments such as CML
  • Handling or supervising all HR issues on site
  • Correspondence and communication with local authorities
  • Handling contracts and payments with suppliers and subcontractors




Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Experienced Commercial Construction Manager or experienced commercial who want to do the next step
  • Commercial allrounder with a passion to take responsibility for a wide range of tasks
  • Construction industry specific work experience is of advantage
  • Good command of written and spoken English is compulsory, German as well as other foreign languages are an advantage
  • Willingness to work and live in Africa as well as on construction sites with camp life
  • Fundamental knowledge in accounting, controlling, human resources, warehousing & logistics as well as taxes; but above all willingness to learn on all subjects
  • Team play and open communication is a vital necessity
  • Good knowledge of Excel is compulsory; knowledge of SUN or AS400 an extra advantage
  • ability to work independently, entrepreneurial thinking, organizational talent, decision-making ability and pleasure, determination and ability to work under pressure are of advantage
