Job Summary: The SME Relationship Officer will mobilise, Monitor, identify potential SME clients, appraise loans /Over Drafts, grow the trade finance business, Grow deposits and carry out disbursements in accordance with the bank’s procedures.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Market the bank’s products and services by cross-selling them to the customers.
- Identify and develop the bank’s SME business relationships, generate new business lines and new customers to achieve defined sales targets.
- Grow the trade finance portfolio in line with the Corporate objectives of the Bank, through excellent customer service delivery and efficient and accurate processing of trade finance transactions.
- Screen all potential SME /Corporate borrowers for eligibility by conducting financial and non-financial analysis, reviewing and analyzing all SME /corporate credit applications for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with the bank’s policies.
- Discuss loan terms and conditions, conduct a collateral risk analysis to ensure compliance with the bank’s policies and procedures.
- Participate in the loan approval committee at the branch.
- Prepare and forward clients’ requests for uncleared effects, overdrafts, Guarantees, ensuring that all required documents are acquired and filed in line with the bank’s policy.
- Monitor the growth and quality of the SME portfolio and recommend remedial action in line with the bank’s policy.
- Manage delinquency through monitoring of the Portfolio At Risk (PAR) and the non-performing loans and receiver loans to avoid arrears.
- Manage customer relationships through a proactive and consultative approach so as to create and maintain a clientele base for profitable business especially with SME’s within your area for operation.
- Proactively manage the customer experience by staying in touch with the customer, resolving customer queries, and processing requests on time.
- Prepare daily, weekly and monthly, reports for loan recoveries, sales, and new accounts opened.
- Minimize risks through adherence to KYC compliance as per the bank policy and procedure in all your operations.
- Perform any other duties as may be assigned by your supervisor from time to time.
- Mobilise for deposits;
- Mobilise for off -balance sheet items.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The ideal candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university
- Four years of experience in lending and loan portfolio management
- Experience in Customer Relationship management will be an added advantage
- High level of business acumen and understanding of business relationship management.
- Good understanding of sales management and branch banking business.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Understanding of the Corporate and commercial Banking business environment.
- Good personal presentation skills.
- Business analysis skills.
- Ability to work under pressure in order to meet deadlines.
- Good teamwork skills.
- Flexibility to travel upcountry
